(@FionaUnderhill) August 17, 2018It’s hard to overstate just how perfect a recreation of it is. Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah is perfect in the Ally Sheedy role, and of course Chris Pine would be Antony Michael Hall. Patty Jenkins as Judd Nelson is also amazing. So why was this taken down? Are there any spoilers to be mined from it? Well, we don’t know who Pascal is playing yet, and he is in full costume here. The formalwear doesn’t tell us much, though and we’ve already seen an official full costume shot that’s basically the same as this. My guess is that he had to take it down because an official cast photo has not yet been released. The cast is mostly in casual clothes here, but they do look to bee in full hair and makeup. Maybe Warner Bros. had plans to release an official first cast photo and a (very good, let’s admit) Breakfast Club goof wasn’t it.Either way, we’re glad Pascal had it up for as long as he did. Now it’s on the internet and we can enjoy it forever. Wonder Woman comes out in theaters November 1, 2019.Green Lantern Corps (Via DC Comics)Looking beyond the next year, DC has some big plans for the future. One of those being a Green Lantern Corps movie. You know what’s way better than one Green Lantern? A whole bunch of them. Hal Jordan! John Stewart! Simon Baz! Jessica Cruz! OK, Kyle Rayner can come too. I guess. Despite a whole generation growing up watching John Stewart’s Green Lantern on the Justice League animated series, Hal Jordan is still the most well-known member of the corps, and Warner Bros. is looking to cast a big name for the role, according to a rumor posted on Crazy Days and Nights. Now, the site is purely a blind rumor site, so nothing can be taken as the definite truth. It has gotten a few things right in the past, but remember to take any rumor with all the salt you can find. That said, if this turns out to be true, it would be incredibly cool. Tom Cruise is reportedly the frontrunner to play Hal Jordan. The rumor has been floating around long enough to gain an air of credibility too. Particularly with writer-director Christopher McQuarrie, who often works with Cruise, in talks to join the project. Cruise, as he proved in Mission Impossible: Fallout is still the best action star working today. A superhero movie with him in it would be amazing. Plus, his age would work in the character’s favor. If you’re making a movie about the Green Lantern Corps, where there are multiple human Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan has been around a while. He’s the elder the younger Lanterns can look up to. Of course he can still be the death-defying action hero when he needs to be. Cruise is pretty much perfect. He hasn’t done a comic book movie yet, and it’s hard to think of a role he’d be better for.The post appears to have been taken down from the site, which could mean one of two things: Either it was all the way wrong, or it was too close to the truth. We’ll have to wait for this movie to actually start being made before we find out.SDCC this year covered a lot of ground for the DC movie universe. Plus were are still waiting on the DC streaming service and Titans pilot after that crazy trailer. Stay on top of all things DCEU here. Nothing is kept quite so under wraps in Hollywood as the plot details of a big superhero movie or the characters appearing in it. Marvel is especially notorious for this, known to send only pieces of scripts to even the studio’s biggest stars. DC is no slouch when it comes to secrecy either, though. Aquaman is a movie coming out this year and we’ve only recently seen a trailer for it. Even then, word out of Comic Con was there’s a lot more of the movie they’ve barely even hinted at outside of that panel. Including, we now know a character played by Graham McTavish. If you’ve been watching AMC’s gruesome and fun, if a little shaky story-wise, Preacher, you’ll recognize McTavish. He’s been killing it (along with many, many people) on the show as The Saint of Killers. That’s not the only DC property you’ll see him in this year. He’s in James Wan’s upcoming Aquaman, but he’s not telling who he’ll play. It’s unclear if he’s even able to. In an interview with Collider, the actor discussed the secrecy surrounding these big superhero movies.“I mean, the role in Aquaman, I had a great time doing it, but I am slightly puzzled by the level of secrecy nowadays in movies and TV and video games,” he said. “I mean the number of non-disclosure agreements you have to sign even if you’re just talking to someone about doing a video game, there’s all that sort of stuff. It’s gone to a whole new level.” McTavish said he’s forgotten who he’s playing, and it’s not clear how much of that is a joke.Regardless, he has nothing but great things to say about the movie. He discussed the challenges of filming in an environment that’s supposed to be underwater when all the water will be digitally added later. Despite those challenges, he says, the film looks fantastic. One look at the trailer is all you need to know he’s not exaggerating there. Those underwater scenes are certainly gorgeous.Even with all the secrecy, it’s a great time to be a DC fan. In fact, make that especially with all the secrecy. There’s nothing more exciting than the promise of things you don’t even know are coming. Take Wonder Woman 1984, for example. Here’s a movie releasing next year that we really only know a few things about definitively. It’s a sequel to 2017’s fantastic Wonder Woman, it set in 1984, and Steve Trevor is back. How is he back? Why? They’re not telling us. It’s not even all that clear what the story will be at this point. What they did give us, probably by accident, is a perfect 1980s throwback photo.Actor Pedro Pascal shared, and soon deleted per Screen Rant, a photo of the main cast (including himself and Kristin Wiig, recreating the poster from The Breakfast Club. Because the ’80s! The original post is gone, but it was up long enough for fans to grab the image. Let us know what you like about Geek by taking our survey.
