first_imgWeekly NotesNaomh Colmcille seniors were defeated in their first leg of the preliminary round of the Intermediate championship on Sunday. The tie was switched to Fanad as the pitch in Newtown was unplayable. Final score Fanad Gaels 0-18 1-6 Naomh Colmcille. Fanad Gaels are next up in the league at home on Saturday (18th). The reserves’ winning run stretched to 6 games this week. The deferred home match against Naomh Padraig Lifford took place on Tuesday night and resulted in a 4-point winning margin for Naomh Colmcille (1-7 to 0-6). The first leg of the preliminary round of the Intermediate reserves championship was switched to Fand on Sunday, and the reserves emerged victorious on a 0-11 to 1-9 scoreline. The teams meet again in the league at Newtown next Saturday. The u14s suffered two defeats this week; first off in the re-fixed match against Burt on Monday, and then at home against Carndonagh on Wednesday. An away match at Red Hughs is scheduled for Wednesday (15th) – check website and Facebook for latest updates during the week.The club will be getting a limited number of tickets for the Donegal v Tyrone match in Ballybofey on May 26. Ticket requests should be sent to Alison Ferry (0879154559) by 9 pm on Wednesday 15th May. All requests received by that time will be considered. Tickets are not being given out on a first come, first served basis. Thanks.The next committee meeting takes place Monday (13th) at 8:00 pm.The club’s Run for Funds 2013 takes place on Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June at Kernans Eurospar and Pairc Colmcille. U8s, u10s and u12s will run laps of the track at Pairc Colmcille; the remaining teams, including seniors and reserves, will run on the treadmill at Kernans. Children who collect €30 or more will be entered into a spot prize draw. Please make sure you bring your full kit (shorts, track bottoms, boots, sports top/hoodie/coat, drink).
